Friends of Nanaimo:

In 2018, the citizens of Nanaimo were looking for positive change at City Hall after

enduring years of frustration and embarrassment by the city council of the day. Many of

us had worked hard to make this city a vibrant and progressive community. We wanted

to see that spirit in the people that we elected to Council and in those that were chosen to

administer our fair city.

In 2018, Leonard Krog made a commitment to bring that positive change to City Hall—a

commitment made and a commitment kept over the last eight years of his tenure as

Mayor of Nanaimo.

I have known and worked with Leonard for over forty years. I know that he is an

honest, intelligent man who is an articulate and capable leader. He has demonstrated an

ability to relate to and work with people from all walks of life. He loves this city and

served it well over the past 45 years, both as our MLA and now Mayor.

We need that stability, positive leadership and progressive spirit to continue at City Hall.
